Results and Box Scores for the 2007 Hooters Championship Series
Seven of the nine teams competing in the 2007 ASA Men’s Class A Slow Pitch National Championship were in Oklahoma City a year ago. Four of the top five teams return for the 2007 National Championship including Chaney's/Pytch Black/Execute Sports/Easton of San Diego, Calif., who is the defending national champion. Also returning is Long Haul Trucking/Miken of Durand, Wis., who finished as the runner-up to Chaney's at the championship a year ago.
Other teams competing in the Men’s Class A Slow Pitch National Championship are the Ballers of Farmington, N.M., Oklahoma Worth of Muskogee, Okla., West Oak Production of Woodward, Okla., CSI/JSA of Oklahoma City, Abby Printing/Bumpus Real Estate/Spurs of Austin, Texas, All-Star Plumbing of Lawton, Okla., and the Armed Forces.
Beginning on Friday, five teams will battle it out for the Women’s Open National Championship. The Armed Forces will be making its fourth consecutive trip to Oklahoma City to compete for the Women’s Open title. Their last three appearances were part of the Hooters Championship Series where they took the title in 2005. This time around they will face off with teams from California, Texas, Minnesota and Oklahoma to decide the champion.
These two national championships are just a part of an extremely busy weekend at the ASA Hall of Fame Complex. Twelve other teams, who have already won their respective national championship, will also be in Oklahoma City competing in the Hooters Championship Series to decide the ultimate champion in their division.
A total of 13 states will be represented when teams take the field to decide the champion in Men’s Class A, Women’s Open and ultimately the “Best of the Best” in each division of the Hooters Championship Series.
