GOLD Championship Enters Double Elimination Play

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --- The best youth softball teams in the country wrapped up two days of Pool Play in the 2008 ASA Girls’ 18-under GOLD Fastpitch National Championship.

Starting Tuesday, teams will battle it out in a double-elimination tournament to determine the National Champion.

Each team played two games, some at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla., and at Wild Horse Park in Mustang, Okla. to prepare for the rigors of the days ahead. The records for each team during pool play are located below.

Teams can play up to four games a day in hopes of reaching the National Championship games August 10.

The 2008 National Championship field is composed of teams from every ASA region and 22 different states. Thirty-five teams are returning from the 2007 edition of the double-elimination national tournament.

All games played at the Hall of Fame Stadium Complex will be broadcast live over the Internet using Gametracker and all games played on the stadium field will have a live camera to follow the action.
