3/3/2009

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --- The Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) announced today that the Washington Huskies continued at No. 1 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll. Receiving 19 first place votes, the No. 1 team went 3-0 on the weekend as they hosted the Husky Softball Classic in Seattle.

After a wet and rainy week that saw many games cancelled, the top 25 teams remained the same. UCLA took sole possession of No. 3 with a perfect 6-0 record over the weekend while Michigan dropped two spots with a 3-2 loss to Houston. No. 14 Massachusetts climbed the poll with a win over a then No. 13 DePaul. No. 21 Fresno State dropped nine spots after three losses at the Mayfair Tournament in Lakewood, Calif.

The Pac-10 dominates the poll with six teams in the top eleven while the SEC is close behind with five teams in the top 22.
