Sports are about so much more than winning. And sustaining youth sports programs takes more than just your valuable time and effort. That's why Liberty Mutual created the Responsible Sports Community Grants. The program helps provide precious financial resources – $2,500 grants – in recognition of local dedication to responsibility in communities across the country.
Since 2007 one softball organizations earned a $2,500 grant by rallying members of their community to support local youth softball. In the Spring 2009 grant period we welcomed three additional softball organizations to the Community Grant Hall of Fame, Clarence Girls Softball League, Canyon Crest Academy High School Girls Softball and Dade County Middle School Softball.
Clarence Girls Softball League is from Clarence, New York and competed and earned a grant in the large division with 400+ players. Clarence’s administrator explains how they will use the grant money “This year we had two goals
Based on the economic climate we are attempting to keep our league fees the same
at the same time we are very concerned about the girls safety
winning this grant will allow us to upgrade our equipment so that we can accomplish both of our goals.” Go to the Community Grant Hall of Fame to see how the other winning softball clubs are using their money!
