Tickets on sale NOW for World Cup of Softball and Border Battle in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY — The world’s best softball will return to Oklahoma City this summer with the World Cup of Softball VIII and Border Battle V taking over ASA Hall of Fame Complex July 11-14. Highlighted by a rematch between the 2012 International Softball Federation (ISF) World Championship Finalists Japan and the USA Women’s National Team, the four-day event returns for an eighth consecutive year and tickets are on sale today! Tickets for the five-country tournament and the Border Battle are now on sale by phone at 800-654-8337 or online at

The 2013 World Cup line-up includes the top four teams from last year’s ISF World Championship: No 1. ranked Japan, No. 2 USA, No. 3 Australia and No. 4 Canada. The World Cup, an ISF sanctioned event, will also feature the Puerto Rican Women’s National Team, who finished eighth at the ISF World Championship.

The 5th Men’s Border Battle Slow Pitch game will also return to Oklahoma City on Thursday, July 11 when the USA takes the field against Canada in Border Battle V. This is a fan’s best opportunity to see both the Women’s and the men’s teams take the field for the Red, White and Blue on Thursday evening. In 2012, the USA Men demonstrated a tremendous come from behind effort to defeat Canada, 32-21. The Americans used 34 hits to score the 32 runs and capitalized off of two key errors from Canada to capture Team USA’s third Border Battle title in the event’s four-year history.

On the women’s side, the United States defeated Australia in the finals of the 2012 World Cup, clinching a sixth title in seven tries. Canada finished third and Puerto Rico was fifth. Japan is returning to the World Cup for the first time since finishing second in 2011 behind the USA.

The complete World Cup of Softball game schedule, including special promotions and autograph sessions with the USA Softball teams, and the television/media schedule will be announced at a later date.

All-session tickets, which are $250 for the Ultimate Fan Zone reserved seating in the first three rows of the stadium, $60 for other reserved seating and $30 for general admission seating, can be purchased by phone at 800-654-8337 or online at Single session general admission tickets will be on sale in early June.

The Ultimate Fan Zone package also includes a private autograph session and meal with the USA Softball Women’s National Team, open only to Ultimate Fan Zone (UFZ) ticket holders, as well as free parking and a white ASA/USA Softball hat and the opportunity for personalized name slide on the videoboard with a photo opportunity and more. Tickets and other UFZ materials will be shipped in June.

The 2013 USA Softball Women’s National Team roster will be finalized in June following the USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Camp. The members of the 2013 USA Softball Men’s Slow Pitch National Team will be announced in the spring.
