Jennie Finch named to People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- People Magazine released today that USA Softball’s Jennie Finch (La Mirada, CA) was named one of its ‘50 Most Beautiful People.’ The 15th annual special double-issue released every Spring, Finch was the only female athlete named to this exclusive group. She was selected by the editors of People Magazine and was one of three athletes including New York Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez and Nascar sensation Dale Earnhardt Jr.

A right-handed ace in the circle, Finch has been making headlines across the country exploding into one of the nation’s premier female athletes. During the collegiate portion of the 2004 ‘Aiming for Athens’ tour, she went undefeated with an 8-0 record and averaged 2.2 strikeouts per inning. In March alone, she recorded two solo no-hitters and held opponents to a .032 batting average.

In 2003 she led the U.S. National Team to the U.S. Cup gold medal and its fifth consecutive Pan American gold medal but now this Arizona Wildcat alum has one goal in mind--- a gold medal in Athens, Greece.

Off the field, Finch has been recognized by as the hottest female athlete and runner-up to Tiger Woods for the ‘Most Popular Athlete.’ To add, she made her broadcasting debut color commentating the 2003 Women’s College World Series in May and is a co-host for ‘This Week in Baseball’ for Major League Baseball.

“This is truly amazing to be recognized by People Magazine for this honor,” Finch said. “It is really special to be included among some of the most famous and beautiful people in the world. I still have a hard time believing that I was selected as part of this group.”
