OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Entering the final stretch of the regular season, the Arizona Wildcats continue to dominate the polls at No. 1 for the eighth consecutive week among ESPN.com/USA Softball’s Collegiate Top 25. Suffering just its third loss of the season over the weekend in a 2-1 pitchers duel against No. 7 Stanford, the Wildcats remained atop the list capturing 19 first place votes with a 48-3 overall record.
No. 2 Florida State clinched the ACC regular season title and garnered the only other first place vote while UCLA slid back to No. 3 with a 3-0 undefeated weekend. The Stanford Cardinal advanced again in this week’s poll to No. 6 at 40-13 overall while Oregon cracked the Top 10 at No. 10 despite ranked losses to UCLA and Washington.
Taking home the SEC Eastern Division conference title, the Tennessee Vols moved to No. 11 while the Auburn Tigers continued to make a statement in the South sweeping Kentucky and advancing to No. 16.
Pacific dropped out of this week’s poll with three straight losses to No. 21 Long Beach State while Notre Dame claimed No. 25 after taking home the Big East regular season title. To view complete results log on to: www.usasoftball.com
