Excitement in May

The month of May has to be one of the most anticipated times each year for softball enthusiast. It is the time of the year when the television is full of action packed games as the regular season comes to an end and the road to a National Championship begins. For the players and coaches in college softball, this is the time we all live for and the fruits of our labor that began in September will reach the final day of another memorable season. For a few, it will be the realization of a lifelong dream and for most, the final days of another great opportunity in our lifetime. Those final days will bring a variety of emotions as we feel the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat! Most of you do not remember the television show "Wide World of Sports" in which the opening showed examples of those vastly different emotions. In reality, there will be one team left standing with a feeling that they just conquered the world. But for all others, there is always a lot to be thankful for and the lessons learned through the process may be very faint at that final moment, but the next day when the sun comes up and you can reflect upon your ride on the emotional roller coaster, you will find many things to be very proud and thankful for.
