Kate Frye Named ASA Commissioner of Saint Paul
10/4/2007

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Amateur Softball Association announced today that Kate Frye has been named to succeed Deb Holtkamp as the ASA commissioner for the city of Saint Paul, Minn., effective immediately.

A native of St. Paul, the 28-year-old Frye is the youngest commissioner among the 84 ASA local associations. She is looking forward to attending her first ASA National Council meeting as a commissioner held in Louisville, Ken., Nov. 3-9.

“I’ve worked with Deb the last two years and we’re looking forward to continuing to bring great youth and adult softball to the people of Saint Paul,” Frye said. “We would like to continue the tradition that Deb left.”

Frye, who plays recreation softball, has been employed by the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department for eight years and worked in Municipal Athletics the last two years. She is working toward a degree in sociology from the College of Saint Catherine, which is located in Saint Paul.
