Gators stay at No. 1

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --- After recording a perfect 8-0 start to the SEC season, the Florida Gators stayed at No. 1 today in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll as announced by the Amateur Softball Association. Receiving 19 first-place votes, the Gators defeated a then-No. 7 Georgia twice and swept Ole Miss over the weekend.
The top five teams remained the same in the poll while the No. 8 Michigan Wolverines moved up two spots thanks to four wins against top 25 teams. No. 14 Ohio State climbed three spots with five wins at the Courtyard by Marriott Cardinal Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky. Florida State opened up ACC play defeating a then-No.15 North Carolina twice which moved them two spots to No. 22. No. 25 Fresno State dropped after four losses at the Judi Garman Classic. The Top 25 teams remained the same this week with no team dropping out.
