BioNamed Kansas ASA commissioner in 1960 and served until 1979. Was involved with ASA since he was appointed a district commissioner in 1940. Was named president of Kansas ASA in 1950.
Former member of the Hall of Fame Committee and International Joint Rules Committee on Softball.
Served as North Central vice president (1963-1964) and Mid Central vice president (1967-68 and 1973-1975). Attended first two ISF Menís World Fast Pitch Championships in Mexico City and Oklahoma City. Served two terms as mayor of Hutchinson, KS. Stremel died August 12, 1987 at age 79.
