Men's Fast Pitch Districts played in Cedar Rapids
The Men's Fast Pitch District Tournament was played in Cedar Rapids June 26-27 at the Kirkwood Softball Complex. The top two teams will advance to the Class A State, while 3rd -5th will go to Class B and 6th - 8th to Class C. Below is the completed bracket.

Non-Approved Bat List Updated
ASA/USA Softball has set new standards for equipment beginning Jan. 1, 2004. All bats that do not meet the the new standards will no longer be able to be used after Jan. 1, 2004 for championship play. The Men's Class D National Qualifier was hosted in Ft. Dodge June 12the and 13th at the Harlan Rogers Softball Complex. Storm (Palo, IA) and AND/Xpressions/Easton (Independence) earned a berth to the Western National Finals in Salem, OR on Sept. 23-26. The Girl's Fast Pitch 14 & Under Class A National Qualifier was hosted in Muscatine June 12the and 13th at the Kent Stein Softball Complex. Norwalk takes Girl's 16 & Under Fast Pitch State Tournament
The 2004 Girl's 16 & Under Fast Pitch State Tournament was held at the Raccoon River Softball Complex in West Des Moines on Saturday, May 8th. The Norwalk Starz went undefeated through the tournament 3-0, defeating the South Des Moines Blues 4-2 in the Championship game. For all tournament scores please check below.

2004 Iowa ASA Tournaments Awarded
The 2004 Championship Play Tournaments sites were awarded at the Iowa ASA Site Selection Meeting on Thursday, Dec. 11th. Iowa will host 38 Championship Play Tournaments in 2004 consisting of State, Regionals, National Qualifiers and Regional/National Qualifiers.

2004 Rule and Code Changes Announced
The 2004 Rule and Code Changes have been released following the National Council Meeting Nov. 8th-14th. Base Stealing is now allowed in Men's Slow Pitch when the ball reaches home plate (excluding Masters and Seniors). There is now a new set of classifications for Senior Slow Pitch along with a "one-up" home run rule. Effective 2005 Face Masks for Junior Olympic play and a Double First Base (orange-white double base) will be required.
